Ravne na Koroškem has been a sport centre of the region for decades. In the 1960s Ravne Ironworks invested into sport and enabled its high standard as well as helped build a modern sports centre which includes various disciplines for local and other athletes, all year round. If you wish to be active in your free time you might choose between the city swimming pool with an Olympic-size pool, an indoor swimming pool, modern athletic stadium, many different courts and halls, a tennis centre and ski slope Poseka which is covered with natural or artificial snow and also enables skiing in the evenings.
Within the main building of Ravne Sports Centre is an indoor swimming pool (25 x 10m) with a Jacuzzi and a pool for children, basketball and volleyball court, table tennis hall, ninepins, fitness, saunas (Finnish sauna, herbal sauna, steam room, infrared sauna), chess room, aerobics and rhythmycs hall and a dojo for judo and other martial arts.
The outdoor park includes a modern stadium with a six-lane-all-weather running track and a football court. There is also a stand with changing rooms and washrooms which sits 350 viewers. The outdoor park also contains an asphalt basketball court, multifunctional court with artificial grass, 3 tennis courts and a beach volleyball court. The outdoor swimming pool complex is covered by a balloon and includes a pool for children, and slides.
Ravne’s sports centre lies in nature as well as in the city and is surrounded by Peca and Uršlja gora. The pleasant environment offers wonderful opportunities for spending your free time and is a good starting point for hikes. Many hiking and biking trails lead from here and it truly is a place here everyone can find something to do.
